Let us help you find the best way to handle your retirement finances.
We can help you convert your RRSP savings into income to use during retirement. Before the end of the calendar year you turn 69, you must choose one or more of the following three options available under the Income Tax Act:
Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)
Term Certain Annuity to Age 90 (TCA 90)
Life Annuity
The most popular retirement income option is a RRIF. A RRIF can be invested just like an RRSP and continues to earn tax deferred interest on the balance, even while you are regularly withdrawing funds from the principle amount.
Based on a minimum requirement, you choose the amount you want to withdraw each year. Withdrawals are then taxed as income, but do qualify for the pension income tax credit.
We’ll help you find the amount that works best for you.
